We recognize what is remarkable about one of the most fertile valleys in the world, and we are committed to preserving the Valley‘s history -- the Valley experience. Since our inception in 1919, the mission of the Fresno County Historical Society has been to engage, inform and educate the public through the collection, preservation and interpretation of the stories, images and resources of our unique region in order to better understand our past and help shape our future.

We provide the community with educational opportunities through multicultural curriculum oral histories in several languages diverse events ethnic and artistic exhibitions and by making our collections available for study and research. The Fresno City County Historical Society encourages and promotes the preservation and conservation of our community39s historic and traditional resources in order to better understand our past and capture our present for the benefit of the generations yet to come.
