Inclusive Communities

We are so deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Marta Nieves. Marta was such a kind, passionate and engaged advocate for justice and equity. Her history with Inclusive Communities went back to her days as a Facilitator when we were still the NCCJ and culminated with her allowing us to honor her as our Humanitarian of the Year in 2019. Marta's heart and her dedication to confronting prejudice, bigotry and discrimination were an inspiration to all who had the privilege of meeting her. In her presence you instantly felt seen and loved and empowered to change the world. There may never be another Marta, but the lasting impact she has had on so many of us is enough to change the world. Thank you Marta for all that you have given to our community. We are grateful that you received your flowers from this community before you passed and we will do our best to honor the legacy of your work going forward. Si Se Puede!
