Louisiana Hospital Association
The Louisiana Hospital Association (LHA) is a non-profit organization established in 1926. It serves as a representative body for hospitals and healthcare systems across Louisiana.
Mission
The LHA's mission is to support its members through advocacy, education, research, representation, and communication. This support helps improve healthcare delivery across the state.
Activities and Membership

- Managed Care Advisory Group (MCAG): Focuses on managed-care reimbursement, care coordination, and workers' compensation issues.
- Finance & Oversight Committee: Provides financial oversight for LHA and its affiliated organizations, including LHA Solutions and the Louisiana Alliance for Patient Safety.
- Legislative, Regulatory & Policy Council (LRPC): Established in 2001, responsible for timely identification of policy issues, increasing member involvement, and enhancing board responsibilities.
Governance
The LHA has a Board of Trustees that includes At-Large and District Trustees, ensuring broad representation of various healthcare regions in Louisiana. The Board works to improve healthcare outcomes and respond to challenges facing the industry.
Additional Initiatives
The LHA Research and Education Foundation supports education and research initiatives, contributing significantly to emergency preparedness and quality improvement in Louisiana hospitals. This foundation facilitates access to government grants and contracts focused on these areas.
