Acadiana Regional Coalition on Homelessness & Housing Our mission is to ensure that every person in Acadiana has access to safe affordable decent housing and that all episodes of homelessness are rare brief and nonrecurring. Recent Impact The COVID19 pandemic has had serious consequences in addition to the tragic health related losses. With a steep increase in homelessness concurrent with a sharp decrease in available shelter beds ARCH took on the tremendous task of temporarily housing nearly two thousand people in local hotels and motels. ARCH case managers worked with each household to help transition them to permanent housing and successfully completed almost a thousand transitions.

The ARCH team would like to express their heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Barbara Robin. Barbara was the force behind A Baker's Choice baking supply store, and helped enormously - both as a judge and a supporter - of ARCH's first annual Bake Me Home event. It was clear in every interaction that her heart was with her community - those she knew and those she did not yet know but soon would.
