Opening: Thursday, June 5, 6pm Through July 19 Kaliner Gallery, 42 Allen St, NY Image: Natalia Zourabova, Nightlight, 2025, Oil on Canvas, 90,5 x 127 in (fb)

Two opportunities to see performer and Artist Working Groups participant Stuart B Meyers this June! On June 17, Stuart is collaborating with our BK home, The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life, as one of our DJ’s for Catskills, BK: Dirtier Dancing! Party Girl is a Musical Collage Queen Committed to the Vibe, Dedicated to the Dance. She DJs regularly in New York and is a resident enchantress of FLAMINGGG, NY’s queer Jewish party and production haus. Come have the time of your life with Party Girl on June 17 at The Moxy Williamsburg! Get your tix here: https://www.theneighborhoodbk.org/extra-events-details/catskills%2C-bk%3A-dirtier-dancing And on June 5, Stuart will be performing a new piece at Ars Nova - GOLEMATRIARK - as a dancer and musician with the incomparable Eli Berman, an electro-acoustic wonder. GOLEMATRIARK is a futuristic, mystical sound-object performance inspired by the Jewish myth of the golem. This ritual performance explores creation as a feminine, intuitive act—expansive, embodied, and rooted in care. Blurring the boundaries between body and machine, custom-built noise instruments channel the performers’ voices through plastic and metal pipes, interacting with loops of electronic distortions and beats. Drawing on extended vocal techniques, Ashkenazi cantorial singing, Yiddish women’s rituals, and queer Jewish witchcraft, GOLEMATRIARK is a meditation on how we will our world into existence through breath, sound, speech, and life-force.
