The Altadena Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by reserve Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputies (all volunteer). Our goal is to save lives through mountain rescue & education. Based at the Altadena Sheriff's station (LASD), we operate 24/7/365. Support AMRT today Established in 1951, it is the oldest organization of its kind in Los Angeles County. The Altadena Mountain Rescue Team is a 501(c)3 nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to saving lives through mountain rescue and safety education. All services are provided at no cost and without regard to race, gender, economic status, or religious affiliation.
