Friends Program Director of Volunteer Programs, Lily Wellington, has been selected to serve as the next Executive Director for the NH Commission on Aging. The Commission on Aging was established in 2019 to advise the Governor and the General Court on policy and planning related to aging and develop a more age-integrated New Hampshire fostered by forward thinking public policy and initiatives ensure that we can all thrive as we age. The Commission unifies the response to complex changes in demographics with real world solutions. Over the last 7 years Lily has overseen statewide programing that impacts thousands of our most vulnerable citizens. Passionate about the aging community, her work has centered on including the 55+ population as the critical volunteer workforce to meet urgent community needs. Lily’s creativity was the driving force behind service adaptations which included expanding the reach of our Caregivers program to ensure homebound seniors could receive free grocery delivery and rides to important appointments. Her passion and enthusiasm for Friends services and the people we serve, centered her work. We wish her the best of luck and look forward to continued collaboration long into the future! (fb)
