Campese, MD/UKRO Kidney Research Center of USC The mission of UKRO is fundraising to support medical research and education related to the causes of, improved treatments for, and the prevention of kidney diseases. On September 19, 2012, the USC Keck School of Medicine and UKRO announced they had entered into an agreement to establish and jointly fund the USC/UKRO Kidney Research Center (KRC). The USC/UKRO Kidney Research Center aspires to be a premier center nationally for kidney research. UKRO is committed to funding the development of a revolutionary synthetic kidney, derived from a patient’s own stem cells, that will improve treatment of kidney disease and replace dialysis.
