When Anna Trejo, M.S.N., R.N., arrived at City of Hope in 2019, it was more than a career move — it was personal. Born and raised in Duarte, California, she knew City of Hope and had loved ones who had walked through those very doors as patients. That feeling of deep gratitude and admiration for our nurses and the special role they play still washes over Anna every time she walks onto campus. “Nurses hold the unique privilege of being the difference — bringing hope, strength and comfort during the most vulnerable moments of a patient’s journey,” Anna said. “Each carries a unique story, and I often leave the treatment room feeling more hopeful and blessed because of the meaningful conversations we share.” Beyond patient care in our radiology department, Anna's drive to keep learning has been deeply shaped by City of Hope’s culture of teamwork, excellence and deep compassion. “I have a front-row seat to what it means to lead with vision, to carry out research with integrity and to help shape the future of cancer care,” she said. Currently, Anna is pursuing her Ph.D. at Loma Linda University. Her decision to return to school was inspired by her City of Hope mentors, including Jeannine M. Brant, Ph.D., APRN-CNS, AOCN, FAAN.
