Our mission is to preserve and interpret our principal artifact, the super carrier USS Saratoga, in order to educate and entertain the public while serving as a constant reminder to future generations of the sacrifices of those who have gone before. The carrier will be the principal element of a self-sufficient Education and Heritage Park that will:•    Be an innovative family attraction with broad-based appeal, incorporating educational and recreational experiences;•    Become an economic engine, creating jobs and generating economic impact;•    Motivate students through innovative programming, providing them with useful skills and experiences to help them become productive members of society;•    Educate the public about the cost of freedom; and•    Honor veterans of all services.Exhibit focus will be on 20th century naval and aviation history, centered on the roles played by ships named USS Saratoga, interwoven with the historical fabric of the part played by Rhode Island and Rhode Islanders in the protection of our nation. In accomplishing this mission, the Museum will become a valuable community asset, with demonstrable economic, cultural, educational and quality of life benefits.
