Compassion Coalition is donating resources to support River Valley Church in Ilion for their Easter Extravaganza on April 19. The event will feature Brooks BBQ, games for kids, and a welcoming environment for families in the community. Last week, we had the opportunity to host Renee Fillette, Executive Director of @dutchessoutreach , for a tour of Bargain Grocery and the Compassion Coalition. She met with CEO Mike Servello and received a tour from Joe Servello of Bargain Grocery. During her visit, we discussed how Dutchess County could explore similar programs in their area. As an organization, we are always looking to extend our reach and connect with others pursuing similar models in the food system. Our goal is to ensure that all individuals and families facing food insecurity have a way to be fed with dignity. Dutchess Outreach, based in Poughkeepsie, NY, shares our mission to fight food insecurity with dignity. Their programs include The Lunch Box meal service, a grocery pantry, mobile food pantry, and free produce farm stand. They’ve been a vital part of their community for over 50 years, committed to equitable access to food, housing, and healthcare.
