Welcome to Wells Reserve

A place to discover nature, science, history, and promising ways to protect the coast. To raise financial and community support for the Wells Reserve at Laudholm and Maine’s coastal environment. Laudholm Trust provides vital monetary and in-kind support for programs, operations, and capital improvements at the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve on the southwest coast of Maine. Our donors enable us to be a reliable partner to the Wells Reserve and an advocate for cultural preservation and coastal protection.

We are pleased to welcome Ethan Tapper to Southern Maine for two exciting events on Tuesday, May 6th, in partnership with our friends at York County Audubon and Great Works Regional Land Trust. Ethan Tapper is a nationally-recognized forester, content creator, and the bestselling author of How to Love a Forest: The Bittersweet Work of Tending a Changing World. He'll be leading an interpretive Walk in the Woods (2-4pm, registrations required) and giving a talk later that evening, 7-8:30pm at Mather Auditorium (and on Zoom).
