As the owner of Visiting Nurse Private Home Care I discovered after 5 years of working alongside many professional caregivers that I still misunderstood the calling of the caregiver. It wasn39t until I walked out of a senior living facility one evening with a caregiver who had been caring for seniors in the building for twelve hours that day that I really SAW a caregiver. I walked her to her car which had one door taped together with duct tape and learned she was going home to her three bedroom apartment that she shared with her husband three children and a homeless friend from church.
