Today, trial began in a major Voting Rights Act case challenging Texas’s congressional map. Despite people of color driving 95% of the state’s growth, the map dilutes their power—which is why our affiliate, the NRF, is in court fighting to correct it. (fb)

In November 2024, Black Alabamians made history by electing two Black members of Congress when they voted on a congressional map that, for the first time, was fair. Despite the state’s attempts to re-install a gerrymandered map, thanks to the determination and perseverance of these Black voters, this equal and fair representation will remain in place. We are proud of our affiliate, The National Redistricting Foundation's longtime fight for fairness, grateful for Eric Holder’s leadership, and inspired by past generations who paved the way, all of which made this progress possible.
