To open and operate successfully a facility that allows young children (preschoolers and infants) to live with their incarcerated mothers as the women serve out their sentences for nonviolent offenses.

Our Children's Place 1 in every28children in the United States has an incarcerated parent. In North Carolina more than 20000 children have a parent in prison. According to The Annie E. Casey Foundation an estimated 160000 children in the state have experienced parental incarceration and the resulting consequences.
