One of the key programs supported by Beyond Our Shores is the Dolphinfish Research Program. Initially founded in 2002 as a state and federally funded project by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR), the program transitioned to private support after public funding ceased in 2006. Over the years, the program has engaged thousands of fishermen and vessels, contributing significantly to the tagging and study of dolphinfish. Beyond Our Shores became the primary sponsor of this program after Don Hammond retired as its director in 2017.

Beyond Our Shores also supports the Collaborative FAD Research Program and the SeasonalCatch seafood initiative, aiming to foster sustainable fisheries practices, promote healthier ocean ecosystems, and contribute to more prosperous coastal economies.
