We are a non-profit organization that raises funds for Firefighters battling cancer. The Shield 23 Foundation, Inc. is organized as an Illinois not for profit corporation, established to honor the legacy of Russell Scott Constantino and all the brave first responders everywhere, that are suffering cancer that has been caused, in whole or in part, as a consequence of their passion and dedication to the communities they serve. Our goal is to help defray the costs of travel, medicine, meals, holistic treatments and medical treatments and costs not covered by insurance and promote fire service cancer related education. In addition, to cover any necessary and proper monetary needs, including but not limited to, day care, house keeping, lawn care, etc, for qualifying first responders and their immediate families.

Constantino who passed away on November 9 2009 at age 46 from job related brain cancer.
