Mount Wilson Observatory

Where we discovered our place in the universe. Home to the 60 & 100-inch telescopes, as well as the CHARA Array. Where we discovered our place in the universe. Written into its founding documents in 1904, the Mount Wilson Observatory’s mission is to conduct science, educate the public about all aspects of the work, and maintain the grounds for public use and enjoyment. The discoveries achieved on Mount Wilson are part of everybody's cultural legacy. As a way of expanding our reach beyond astronomy devotees, we juxtapose the essential science and engineering with the finest music and educational outreach in order to celebrate best of what people do.
