"AHA! is the reason I’m still alive. The impact it had on my life was monumental, and I just hope it continues so others can be impacted in the same way.” Across Santa Barbara County, nonprofits like AHA: Inspiring Youth to Feel Safe, Seen, and Emotionally Connected are on the frontlines of youth mental health, and the Santa Barbara Foundation is proud to support them through the Youth Mental Health Providers Recruit, Retain, Rest and Recuperation (4R), which ensures support for mental health providers delivering direct behavioral healthcare to children, youth and their families and caregivers. Thanks to a 4R Fund grant, AHA! was able to hire an additional clinical staff member, easing the burden on existing staff and expanding access to quality mental wellness care for local youth. This #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, we celebrate organizations like AHA! who are investing in the care of our youth and strengthening our community as a whole. (fb)

At The Thriving Initiative, creating safe spaces for survivors is at the heart of everything they do. With support from our Youth Mental Health Providers Recruit, Retain, Rest and Recuperation (4R) Grant Program, The Thriving Initiative has been able to invest in the mental well-being of their team, ensuring those who support survivors of sexual assault, stalking, and domestic violence are also supported themselves. This #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, we celebrate organizations like the Thriving Initiative that prioritize both compassion and confidentiality while doing life-changing work. (fb)
