Paint the City

Celebrating art and education in Chicago's Puerto Rican community Paint The City looks to connect local artists of color with local businesses to heal our city through art. Co-founders Missy Perkins and Barrett Keithley founded Paint The City June 4th, 2020 in response to the George Floyd protests and COVID. Their organization managed to paint over 50 different boarded up businesses to create more inspirational environment for the community and create awareness around social unrest. They are now creating a program to Paint The Schools with these murals of positivity that are inspired by the students voices to help give them a better learning environment to come back to. The impact on the youth and communities has not only been successful but it also provides financial stability to the creative community.
