Bread for the Brain

Studies show that in low income communities, there is one book per 300 children, while in middle income communities, there are 13 books for each child. Low income children have less opportunity to become practice literacy skills and become better readers because they have fewer books to read. Bread for the Brain gives books to low income families.

As a volunteer, I love how Eduo.org empowers people to contribute locally. It feels like Wikipedia for good deeds — written by the people, for the people.
