Center for Acknowledging the Values Accomplishments of Our Remarkable Youth (CAVALRY)

Overview

The Center for Acknowledging the Values Accomplishments of Our Remarkable Youth, commonly referred to as CAVALRY, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing the financial self-sufficiency of the next generation through certification, community service, and connections[4]. Founded by Dr. Tracie Edmond, CAVALRY aims to unite the Education, Non-Profit, and For-Profit sectors to foster long-lasting, mutualistic relationships[3].

Mission

CAVALRY's mission focuses on educating and empowering the next generation of project management workforce talent. This is achieved through community service, partnerships, and a proven model of apprenticeship[2]. The organization emphasizes collaboration, excellence, diversity, integrity, engagement, and connectivity as core values[2].

Programs and Initiatives

CAVALRY offers specialized Project Management pathways in several fields, including Construction, IT, and Finance. These programs are designed to equip participants with essential skills required to land jobs in these growing sectors[3]. Additionally, CAVALRY provides apprenticeship opportunities that allow participants to earn a salary while gaining valuable project management experience and certifications in various methodologies such as DASM, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, and Google Project Management[5].

Impact

One notable example of CAVALRY's successful programs is the Lemonade Circle Project Management Pilot, which showcased the effectiveness of their approach. With a modest grant of $6,000, the pilot program yielded 9,270 community service hours and generated an economic impact of $69,208 for the City of San Antonio. Furthermore, eight participants were awarded full scholarships to prestigious universities[3]. This model highlights CAVALRY's commitment to community development and youth empowerment.

Financial and Organizational Structure

Currently, there is no recorded information available on the board members of CAVALRY[4]. However, the organization continues to focus on developing financial metrics and building relationships with key leaders in the nonprofit sector.
