Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary
Peaceful Prairie Sanctuary is located on 105 acres in Deer Trail Co. The need for permanent homes for rescued farmed animals became apparent to us soon after purchasing the land. While some animals are fortunate enough to be rescued from factory farms, others from "back yard" dairy, egg, and meat operations are also in need of protection. While providing for each individual animal, we are also able to educate the public through Vegan outreach programs and shelter events. We recently co-formed a coalition of organizations to assist rural sheriff departments with farm animal cruelty and neglect cases. We recognize the need to network with other organizations, municipalities, local authorities, and individuals in the protection of and advocacy for all animals.
