Come visit us! We are open from 9:30AM to 3:00PM Tuesday-Saturday. This non-profit organization was incorporated on December 12, 1947, and is known as The Humane Society of Tuolumne County, Incorporated (HSOTC), effective February 19, 1998.The objectives of the HSOTC include:A.  To abide by existing and future laws of the United States and the State of California for the prevention of cruelty to and for the protection of all domestic animals.B.  1.  To establish and maintain an animal shelter for the housing and care of owner-released and Animal Control-transferred animals;      2.  To utilize local veterinarians for the medical treatment of Society animals, including spaying and neutering; and      3.  To adopt Society animals to pre-screened and approved persons.C.  To make available a county-wide program providing assistance to the public with the spaying and neutering of companion animals.D.  To create humane sentiment toward all animals by employing the following:      1.  Promoting and conducting humane education programs;      2.  Providing information and advice on proper companion animal care, including spaying and neutering;      3.  Advising on alternatives to surrendering animals; and      4.  Providing information on animal rescue groups.E.  To conduct a humane assistance program offering financial assistance for companion animals requiring emergency medical treatment.F.   To provide animal-related support services to the veterinary community and community-at-large.
