Have you had a chance to visit our newest temporary exhibit “Voyage to Vietnam” yet?! Check out the beauty and excitement of celebrating Tết, Vietnamese New Year. This interactive exhibit is perfect for children and families! Immerse yourself in Vietnamese culture and traditions by shopping for fruit at the play marketplace, trying on a giant lion dance mask, creating your own fireworks show, and so much more! “Voyage to Vietnam: Celebrating the Tết Festival” was created and is circulated by Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose. This traveling exhibition was made possible by the Sutter County Children & Families Commission and Sutter County Museum Association. The Museum's Gift Shop is thrilled to feature Bruce Eggleston of Sutter County and his fine craftsmanship of beautiful wooden bowls. Working with many local woods like walnut, olive, and maple, he creates custom bowls in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Bruce moved to Yuba City in the 1970s and has been creating his one-of-a-kind wood creations since he was about 13 years old. Next time you visit, check out Bruce's impressive, timeless pieces.
