This summer, UW–Madison students Holly and Kate joined Susan Carpenter and dozens of volunteers to care for the Native Plant Garden. They became fascinated by the diversity and ecological roles of many organisms in the garden, especially fungi. As the fall semester approached, Holly and Kate reflected on the myriad fungi they found and photographed during their summer garden experience: arboretum.
