Rain House

Through fundraising efforts and with the help and collaboration of like-minded individuals and volunteers we will offer experiential training for all age groups at the RainHouse Learning Center. Currently we are looking for land in the Austin area for building the RainHouse Learning Center. We are also interested in networking with volunteers, and welcome articles of interest about living in harmony with nature and sustainability. We look forward to a growing community of supportive members to our organization.Our goals are to: Facilitate workshops to educate communities on sustainability and conservation through experiential learning environments Be a forum for indigenous cultures who wish to contribute to the deeper understanding of respect of all life and how to apply that in the 21st century. Collaborate with other established sustainable organizations. Host educational seminars that will be recorded for distribution and further education. We will document in multimedia format, and maintain an internet web presence. Raise funding to begin building self sufficient homes and communities. Work closely with the immediate community to establish an on going support system for others in the area who wish to learn and participate in the future. Build low cost, energy efficient structures, mostly in underdeveloped and rural areas Our long term goal is to establish a Learning Center, a sustainable green building to host workshops, conferences and gatherings, where the cultivation of a unified and healthy community will grow.
