Date Incorporated: 1988Mission: The mission of the Mesopotamian Opera Company is to further the teaching and deployment, in live performance, of expressive performance techniques. The goal is to create work, employment when possible, and contemporary context for the arts of dance, song, recitation and role playing, and all the attendant arts; stage design, music composition, choreography, lighting design, conducting, playing of musical instruments and directing. This goal supports the infrastructure of teachers and coaches, universities, that every year turn out aspiring talent in the field of live, expressive performance by laboring to increase the supply of delivery platforms, of finished public display, for the many years of work and dedication represented in the lyric population.Overview: Our work is to develop original lyric dramatic narratives to be either sung, danced or recited. Our end goal is to create and produce public, ticketed performances. We produce a season almost every two years and have done so since 1980 with budgets varying from $5000 to $60,000.
