The church's first worship service was held in a schoolhouse at the beginning of its formation. The original sanctuary was built shortly after 1909 but was destroyed by fire in 1914. A new sanctuary, constructed in the Richardsonian Romanesque style, replaced it the following year. By 1931, the congregation outgrew this facility and educational space, prompting a move to the old Heathwood School at the intersection of Devine Street and Millwood Avenue[2][3].
