For 71 years, the mission of Bethune Day Nursery has been to provide a high quality child development program that is affordable and dependable for the low income parents that are working or pursuing their education. In the Coastal Bend, Bethune has led the way as the oldest child development center, the first state licensed child care agency for low income families, the first USDA Child Care Food Program working with the poor and the first integrated childcare program. Bethune adheres to the educational guidelines of The National Association for the Education of Young Children in providing high quality childcare to the low-income and disadvantaged families of the Coastal Bend. Bethune is currently licensed to serve 160 children (ages 0-12) in our three age appropriate buildings (Infant/Toddler, Pre-K and School Age) and multi-purpose building. (Open M-F from 6:30am to 9pm).
