The Crystal River Valley NON PROFIT Food Co-op - Home

Our Mission We believe the county's alternative schools are under-served in terms of quality nutrition by The Colorado School Lunch Program. The lunches include GMO ingredients, provide barely the minimum nutrition quality for developing healthy young people, and aren't affordable even with discounts, which are used by 30-60% of the students in the systems. The high-carb and sugary content of the diet has been shown to be a major contributor to the three primary health issues of our generation: Obesity, Diabetes, and Cancer. Our purpose is to provide free, fresh, organic, locally-sourced and primarily plant-based lunches to these students, along with free educational courses on nutrition to them and their families.

About the organization

- 970, E60, K30, K12 -

Our Mission is to provide artisan handcrafted Organic Sourdough bread to our communitys three local PK8 schools the local High School their parents the Somerset Food Bank and others as an effective means toward achieving the reduction reversal and elimination of Obesity Cancer and Diabetes. We have found that demonstrating on a Taste and See basis the value of localorganic food and providing peerreviewed educational material is an effective method of gaining political support to bring about change in the Colorado School Lunch Program. We intend to provide educational alternative and integrative sciencebased medicinal research relating to diet and exercise classes for the education of the whole community hopefully in collaboration with other professionals currently actively engaged. The establishment of a true nonprofit food store that will provide the hardworking young element in our community quality food at cost while providing all with organic locally produced when possible food at a cost plus and pay what you can price.
