El Sistema Santa Cruz
El Sistema transforms the lives of youth and communities through the inspiration, discipline, and performance of classical ensemble music. We provide children of marginalized communities the same access to music as their more privileged peers. With choir, Orff ensembles and an emerging South County Youth Orchestra, our youth serve as a beacon of their communities and are empowered by our intensive program that teaches the importance of teamwork, self-confidence, and social responsibility.

By teaching music we offer our students a holistic youth development experience focused on community safety and joy. Our approach transforms students into not only skilled musicians but also effective leaders collaborators and problem solvers equipping them with critical life skills for their academic social and emotional wellbeing. Our inspiration comes from Jose Antonio Abreu the Venezuelan economist musician and visionary founder of El Sistema Venezuela.
