Girls in Gear
At Girls in Gear, we teach life skills through bike skills for girls ages 5+ across NJ, MD, VA, PA, OH, and DC. We find bikes to be an extraordinary tool for change in ourselves and our communities as a conduit for lessons on kindness, compassion, and inner strength. We do this through age-appropriate comprehensive curriculums that weave together social-emotional learning (SEL) with bike handling skills. Our no-questions-asked scholarship policy provides financial support, bikes, and helmets to ensure everyone has access to our program. Our vision is for a world where every girl grows into her most brilliant, tenacious, and confident self, on and off her bike.
