It was General Charles Krulak, then 31st Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC), that initiated a dialog asking for veteran's groups to begin forming organizations such as Coordinating Councils in local communities across the country. We are tasked to enhance the standing of The USMC in the community and offer assistance to Marines, Marine Reservists and family members where often no other help is available. We spearhead the 5 county Toys for Tots program, offer scholarships to deserving USMC and USMCR personnel, we maintain an emergency relief fund, we host a Marine Corps Birthday Ball where all are welcome, and we support other organizations whose work benefits active duty personnel across all branches as well as retired military. We have been and will always be a 100% volunteer organization with no paid staff, we keep overhead expenses as low as possible so that every dollar raised can help fulfill our mission.
