DLAC provides life-enriching, therapeutic art programming for adults with special needs by promoting creativity, dignity and community through visual art The mission of Donna Lexa Art Centers is to promote creativity, dignity and community for people with disabilities and special needs. DLAC offers visual art programming for teens, adults and elders with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities, chronic mental health diagnoses, and conditions such as dementia and military-service related PTSD. Through art, each DLAC student is able to work toward their individual goals, participate in a supportive community, improve their critical, creative, and social-emotional and expand their capacity to express themselves. DLAC programming utilizes a process-oriented, asset-based approach that supports each individual’s unique strengths, talents and achievements.
