NORTH CAROLINA FREEDOM PARK
Each school year, over 130,000 public school children visit North Carolina's capital area on history field trips. What they see there tells them a lot about our ideals. Noticeably absent from the public art in the capital area is a monument to the African-American experience in North Carolina. The North Carolina Freedom Park's goal is create a spectacular site that educates, engages, and inspires visitors to question and reflect upon the concept of freedom as viewed through the African-American experience in North Carolina.
