The purpose of the Advisory Council is to strengthen the parent/caregiver commitment to the Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) program in District 271. The council will advise the Bloomington ECFE program in planning, needs assessment and program development with the goal of improving and enhancing the program and its mission. The council will raise community awareness for the program by serving as a communication link between the program and the community. The council also advises and advocates on behalf of Bloomington Early Learning Services (ELS), which includes ECFE, Early Childhood Screening, preschool programming for three-year-olds and four-year-olds, and Early Childhood Special Education.

About Join Meetings Events Leadership ECSE Connect Feedback Donate Our Mission BELAC aims to strengthen the parentcaregiver commitment to Bloomington Early Childhood Family Education ECFE as well as advise and advocate on behalf of all of Bloomington Early Learning Services which includes ECFE Early Childhood Screening preschool programming for three and fouryearolds and Early Childhood Special Education. What We Do Build Community We plan events and activities that bring ELS families together outside the classroom Increase Awareness We promote Bloomington ECFE and all ELS programs acting as a link between ELS and the community Advise and Advocate We assist in developing the ELS programs as well as advocate for ELS in the legislature Fundraise We fund Advisorysponsored events for ELS families materials for early learner classrooms and more Build Community BELAC Organized Sponsored Annual End of the Year Picnic BELAC first held the End of the Year Picnic back in May of 2021 and it has grown to be a successful and fun way to celebrate with families staff and lots of FUN. Increase Awareness Promoting ELS at the Farmers Market BELAC coordinates an info booth at the Bloomington Farmers Market to increase awareness for ECFE and the districts other Early Childhood programs to Bloomington families and the wider community. Advise and Advocate Supporting ECSE Early Childhood Special Education Families In February 2022 BELAC launched ECSE Connect an online community for parentscaregivers of a child with a disability or delay.
