Founded in 1976, the specific and primary purposes are to collect and record the history of the area (South San Luis Obispo County, California); to make such history available to interested persons and organizations for research, information and education; to provide for its proper preservation, care, maintenance and display.

South County Historical Society Welcome The South County Historical Society is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of important landmarks in the southern portion of wildly historic San Luis Obispo County California and represent the towns of Arroyo Grande Pismo Beach Avila Beach Grover Beach Oceano Nipomo Halcyon Edna Valley Los Berros Oso Flaco and Huasna. The Society is a nonprofit organization that depends solely on donations and volunteers to continue its work. Museum HoursThe Schoolhouse Heritage House and Barn Museum will be open onSaturday March 8th Saturday and March 22nd Sunday March 23rd from 100pm to 300pm The Museums will be closed on Sunday March 9thHave you ever wondered about the Irish impact on the history of Arroyo Grande.
