NeighborImpact is charged with fighting poverty in Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson counties and the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. Our mission: “Supporting people, strengthening communities.” NeighborImpact uses public and private resources to help low-income residents acquire useful skills and knowledge, gain access to opportunities and achieve financial self-sufficiency. To address basic needs, we confront hunger, homelessness, housing retention and emergency heating costs. Beyond emergencies, we focus on factors that perpetuate poverty: insufficient knowledge of money management, saving and borrowing; the lack of education that can increase income and build assets. confront short- and long-term needs through a suite of programs that move low-income residents toward prosperity.
