Mission Statement The mission of Capen Hill Nature Association, Inc. (Capen Hill Nature Sanctuary), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, shall be to protect natural resources and places of natural beauty. It is to preserve green belts, open areas, fields, forests, watercourses, wetlands, including vernal pools, in as natural a state as possible, providing protection and sanctuary for the animal and plant life contained therein while providing unspoiled areas for the general public to enjoy. Also, the bylaws state that the sanctuary is a place to maintain areas to engage in and encourage others to engage in the scientific and aesthetic study of plants, birds, and all wildlife, offering education and training to present and future generations in ecology .
