THE HELL CREEK PALEONTOLOGICAL SOCIETY

The Hell Creek Paleontological Society is a organization focused on the study of fossils with the goals of inspiring and furthering the educational aspirations of our community through knowledge and scholarship. We are open to everyone, regardless of age, experience or educational background. We argue that the study of fossils, fossil hunting, and fossil collecting are great ways to motivate children of all ages to explore the complex natural world around them. Indeed dinosaurs are often the path to a lifetime pursuit of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The HCPS intends to support and encourage all like-minded families, students, educators and researchers to advance our knowledge of Earth history.

About the organization

Supporting Paleontological Exploration Research and Education The Hell Creek Paleo Society HCPS is a brand new nonprofit organization dedicated to helping support the paleontological community of the northern Black Hills area and beyond. Our efforts are focused on the 66 million year old Hell Creek Rock Formation of South Dakota North Dakota Montana and Wyoming the dinosaur and paleontological resources contained within it and the people who passionately study this time period in all its intricate beauty. We hope to support original research in this area as well as students and teachers who also share this same passion for the Earth Sciences. Membership is open to all interested parties who intend to ethically respectfully and responsibly study fossils.
