Description

International Transformation Foundation, Inc.

The International Transformation Foundation, Inc. is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization, registered as a 501(c)(3). The foundation focuses on empowering communities, particularly in Africa, to access clean and reliable water. It also provides opportunities for young Americans to engage in educational, cultural, and social volunteering abroad.

Mission

The mission of ITF is to build communities of empowered and connected people globally. To achieve this, they work on establishing sustainable access to clean water in Africa while fostering cross-cultural experiences for American youth. This allows young people to develop personally and professionally through involvement in water-related projects.

Activities

  1. Water Kiosks: ITF sets up water kiosks at schools in rural and urban informal communities across Africa. These kiosks not only provide access to clean water but also serve as sustainable business models that help fund community schools.

  2. Public Drinking Fountains: The organization installs public drinking tap water fountains in urban areas. This initiative aims to increase access to clean drinking water while reducing reliance on single-use plastic bottled water.

  3. Volunteer Opportunities: ITF offers young people from the United States the chance to participate in these projects, organizing trips to project sites in Africa. This allows volunteers to gain valuable work experience and engage in meaningful cross-cultural exchanges.

Goals and Impact

By focusing on water access and youth empowerment, ITF contributes to addressing global challenges such as lack of clean water and opportunities for economic growth. Through these initiatives, the organization aims to foster long-term sustainability and community development.

Partnerships

ITF collaborates with international partners to achieve its objectives. These partnerships help in mobilizing resources and expertise necessary for effective project implementation across different regions.

The inaugural initiative the Leadership and Entrepreneurship Training initiated debates and workshops in partnership with colleges and universities fostering the development of leadership and entrepreneurial skills among participants. By December 2012 ITF had positively impacted over 26000 youth across Kenya. In July 2013 ITF forged a partnership with Join the Pipe Foundation launching the Join the Pipe project.
