The North Idaho Youth Symphony is committed to providing a quality orchestral experience for the youth of the Inland Empire and to increase opportunities for musical arts expression and education for its members. The North Idaho Symphony organization was founded on the belief that the study of music can be an important part of a young person becoming a well- rounded adult. Performing in a quality musical ensemble promotes intellectual and aesthetic knowledge. It can build many leadership skills such as responsibility, discipline, communication, acceptance and pride, as well as social skills and a sense of community. The NIYS organization is a community of people - musicians, parents and family members, volunteers, financial supporters, and audience members.
