Advancing the interest in bookplate art since 1922 The American Society of Bookplate Collectors and Designers (ASBC&D) was organized in 1922 to further this department of the book arts. The ASBC&D is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a focus on North American book artists, printmakers, and collectors. Our membership includes both individuals and institutions. The purposes of the ASBC&D as stated in the first Year Book: "To cultivate the spirit of friendship and mutual helpfulness among collectors and designers of bookplates; and to assist in the further development of the bookplate." Accomplished with the Year Book, newsletter, publications, design competitions, traveling exhibitions, regional meetings, talks, and building an important library & print collection for research and exhibition. Our network includes 40+ nations.
