Advocacy| Education | Health Promotion The focus of the San Diego Black Nurses Association, Inc (SDBNA) is to decrease healthcare disparities in the following areas: diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, breast cancer, prostate cancer and influence. Additionally, we promote health services to the underserved, underinsured, and uninsured people within our community. Nursing education is an integral part of the SDBNA Mission. The Organization provides its members and other licensed nurses, who are not SDBNA members, with continuing education classes to enhance their nursing knowledge and skills.

SDBNA one of over ninety NBNA chapters was organized in 1976 by six forwardthinking nurses Eula May Banks Maudesta George Lottie Harris Jewel Kelley Dorothy Palmer Phillips Trent Betty Reliford.
