Tumblewheel Studios is a custom converted school bus turned self-contained, mobile art classroom. Our nonprofit focuses on bringing art to rural Montana by providing art education and art making supplies to underfunded schools and under-resourced communities. We offer children, families, and individuals, access to a creative environment where they can develop new skills, exhibit their talents, and learn how to express themselves through art. We are committed to building spaces in which everyone has equitable access to the arts. Through alliances and relationships with local partners, Tumblewheel Studios implements alternative methods of arts education, and promotes discovering new ways to support creative endeavors.

Tumblewheel Studios
Overview

Tumblewheel Studios is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Montana, dedicated to providing art education and resources to underfunded rural communities. Founded by Jenna Reineking and Nick Patton, this organization utilizes a custom-converted 2001 Bluebird school bus as a mobile art classroom to expand arts education across rural Montana[3][4].

Mission

The mission of Tumblewheel Studios is to bring art and art education to underserved rural areas through community-based projects, workshops, and mentoring programs. They aim to ensure equitable access to the arts by partnering with local communities and implementing alternative teaching methods[1][2].

Programs and Services
  • Community Workshops: Tumblewheel Studios offers workshops and events for all ages, tailored to meet the specific needs of each community they serve[2].
  • After-School Programming: The organization works with local schools to extend the learning experience through after-school art programs[2].
  • Private Events and Mentoring: They provide private events and individual mentoring to support creative endeavors further[2].
  • Public Art Projects: Tumblewheel Studios also engages in public art projects, such as a series of murals titled "Coloring Carbon County," aimed at beautifying and engaging the local community[1].
Impact

This nonprofit plays a significant role in enriching the lives of rural residents by providing opportunities for creative expression and social interaction. Their projects, like art classes for seniors, help bridge social gaps and foster communal engagement[1].
