The El Paso Institute of Chess (EPIC) is a non-profit corporation organized and operated for charitable and educational purposes, including: 1. to promote the game of chess; 2. to broaden and develop chess as a learning tool, as art and recreation, and as a significant element of culture in El Paso, Texas; 3. to cooperate with schools, colleges, hospitals, military bases, community centers, recreation departments, and other groups and institutions, in teaching chess, conducting tournaments, and other activities.
