Bridge Du Jour: Taftsville Covered Bridge in Woodstock. This two-span bridge, built in 1836, is one of the oldest in the state. The bridge has survived a flood in 1869 and Tropical Storm Irene in 2011. It was also visited by First Lady Lady Bird Johnson in 1967. https://t.co/GEyOkoGf4E (tw)

Welcome to the Vermont Covered Bridge Society website. The society was startedin 2000 to address the loss of these bridges and to preserve those bridges that remain. We have semiannual meetings which are held at different locations throughout the state of Vermont. Inaddition to the meetings we publish a quarterly newsletter entitled TheBridger.
