DC Water Wizards

Follow Message Edit

The DC Water Wizards is a community-based initiative to stimulate and preserve vigorous aquatics programs for seniors from beginners to competitors. It is DC's resident aquatics program using the Department of Parks and Recreation public pools and staff to provide pool-based fitness and educational opportunities for seniors (ages 50 and up)—from water aerobics to learn-to-swim, to swimming at all levels—to help combat isolation and improve their physical fitness and health. It also includes a team of men and women who compete at the national level for DC and compete in US Master Swimming events. The Water Wizards' advocacy role supports aquatics programs throughout DC for all age levels and emphasizes the proper maintenance and full utilization of DPR’s public pools.
