The mission of the Mary Christian Burleson Preservation and Development Foundation is to tell the story of this land and it's peoples through the prism of Mary Christian Burleson's extraordinary life. We are working to preserve Mary's 1870s homestead and use it as a cultural center, community gather space, event rental, and museum. We prioritize learning and fun in all that we accomplish and we can use people just like you.

Our goal is to turn the homestead into a community center cultural space and an event rental that encourages stay and play visitors in Elgin and funds the organization. The 1847 homestead is a symbol of Mary Christian Burleson39s enduring legacy and with your help we can tell the story of this land and all its people.
